Chinese New Year is fast approaching - and with it a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of China's foremost acrobatic troupes performing live in Dunedin's iconic Regent Theatre!
To celebrate 2017, the Year of the Rooster, the Wuhan Acrobatic and Cultural Troupe will be appearing in a one off concert on Thursday 19 January and providing a chance to immerse the whole family in the beauty and excitement of China’s evocative arts.
The Wuhan performers will be making a special trip to Dunedin for their one-off concert to help raise funds for The Dunedin Chinese Garden, the Dunedin Chinese Scholar and Student Association and the Otago & Southland Chinese Association.
This will be a unique opportunity to experience the exotic and aesthetic art of Chinese acrobatics from one of the People’s Republic of China’s oldest acrobatic troupes together with the, singers, musicians and dancers from the Wuhan Singing and Dancing Theatre making up this acrobatic and cultural troupe direct from Wuhan.
And along with these spectacular stage performers Dong Yanfeng, a singer of tenor love songs who graduated from Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and Wan Jing, a National B-Class soprano, both sing with the Wuhan Singing and Dancing Theatre will be showcasing their expertise to the Dunedin Community.
