Lion Dance Workshop

On Saturday, October 24th & 25th, the Otago Southland Chinese Association had a workshop with Lion Dance Master George Chan and Karren who came down from Christchurch with the Christchurch Lion Dance troupe.

The two troupes worked hard on Saturday and Sunday in sweltering temperatures. 

The lion dance troupe gave up their long weekend and worked hard coming away with new enthusiasm and ideas about how to improve the performances they do to help their communities celebrate traditional holidays and events. 

Some of the lion dance Troupe members have been involved for over 8 years. It was great to see their enthusiasm.
