OSCA August Moon Dinner 2020

OSCA held its August Moon Dinner on the 26th of September 2020at the Golden Harvest Restaurant. Around 110 people attended and OSCA Lion dance Team Performed for the diners. Linus Chin the President made the welcome speech and acknowledged Golden Harvest Restaurant (Leah and Duncan Sew Hoy) who donated 2 Peking Duck Vouchers that we auctioned. Colin Lim from I Love Merino donated a $100 voucher as well as a discount voucher from For Kiwis. Hector Wong donated honey, and Leo Li from Dunedin City Pharmacy donated some more items for the raffle.

           

OSCA also offered some NZCA "Turning Stone into Jade" books to guests with many taking a copy.

During the dinner, Teresa Chan, our Chairperson presented Katy Wong, Matt Wong, and Georgia Wong their well-earned certificates recognising their success in the NZCA Academic Awards 2019. Its encouraging to see that out of 8 applications and 5 successful candidates, 3 came from Otago & Southland Association. A great result.

 

            

 

We also had the Hon. David Clarke, Ingrid Leary (Labour candidate for Taieri) in attendance. A significant amount of money was raised by the raffles and auctions thanks to generous guests. 

Dinner ended with a sampling of mini Moon Cakes. A favourite for some of us, or an unknown taste sensation for others.
